Joseph Iao Oba, 83, of Maunawili, a retired teacher and a Marine Corps veteran, died in Honolulu. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Linda G.; sons Hugh Whitford and Saichi and Joshua Oba; daughters Huellyn Whitford, Dayna Mora, Anita Kaupiko and Dilla Oba; sister Emogene Martin; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Visitation: 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Andrew's Cathedral. Services: 2 p.m. Free parking.
