MERVIN L. KAWAINUI KNOWN AS “UNKO MERV”

51, of Kaneohe, died October 25, 2011, in Waimea Hawaii. Born on September 8, 1960; raised in Papakolea; a graduate of Kamehameha Schools Class of 1978; a Certified Fire Sprinkler Fitter for the State of Hawaii Local 675 and a member of the Order of Kamehameha.

Survived by his wife, Lurline Wreath; sons, Kawehi (Jamie Perry) and Kawelo (Carrie) Kawainui; daughters, Kawena (Lawrence Coyaso) and Kawekiu Kawainui; Hanai children; Debbie (Dwayne) Gomes, Isaac & Patricia Dikilato, Cody Hoffman; granddaughter, Kainoa; grandson Kaiehu; mother, Alvina Puaoi; brothers, Manu and Leif Mokuahi; sisters, Stephanie Arakaki, Nala Palma and Nue Jerome; Step Siblings; Edward, George, William, Geneallan & Maryann Puaoi, Kapio Inoke, Nani Hill.

Visitation 9:30 to 12 noon Saturday, (Nov.12) Borthwick Mortuary Maunakea Chapel; Memorial service 12 noon with cremation to follow. Casual attire, Flower leis preferred. Online condolences at
