Susan McGovney Hansen, age 78, passed away in Honolulu on October 22, 2011 surrounded by family. She was a loving mother and gifted artist. Born in Southern California, Susan spent most of her adult life in Lanikai raising three children and working in her Keolamau Studio. Her art is spread throughout the islands and across the world.
She is survived by son Michael (Jacquelyn) Hansen, daughters Kathy (Lyle) Galdeira and Patricia (Oscar) Demasi, sisters Anne M. Brown and Meredith Kaplan, and five grandchildren (Kyle, Emma, Robert, Michael and Angelina).
A private celebration of her life will take place at a later date. Donations in her honor may be made to Honolulu Academy of Arts.
