74Frank Alexander Mulec, 81, of Opihikao, Hawaii, a retired mechanical engineer at the former Hilo Iron Works and Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Co., died in Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Sentilj, Slovenia. He is survived by wife Eunice "Loha"; son Frank J.; daughters Susanne Hauanio, Leilani Reyes and Kapuanani Behr; brother Silvester; sister Elza Marusic; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Visitation: 8 a.m. Saturday at Opihikao Congregational Church. Services: 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park. Casual attire.
