TIMOTHY SEY KWONG CHUN

Age 75, of Aiea, Hawaii passed away on November 23, 2011.

Timmy was a proud alumnus of Farrington High School and would attend many functions with his tight-knit classmates. Shortly after graduating he joined the U.S. Air Force and served for four years. He went on to retire with the Honolulu Police Department, work at the Honolulu International Airport as a Security Supervisor and most recently as a U.S. Marshal for the Federal Court House.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah Chun, children, Darryl Chun, Sherry Sammons and Marc Tabayoyon, step-children, Alexander Takemoto and Joy Miyamasu, and three grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Peter and Albert Chun, and sisters, Dorothy Loo and Beatrice Murakami.

A Ceremony of Honor and Remembrance will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Borthwick Mortuary. Visitation at 9:00 a.m. and Services at 11:00 a.m.

Eleanor Laundy Nelson, 81, of Kula, died at home on November 28, 2011. She was born in Berkeley, California, and resided for much of her life in Honolulu. Eleanor attended the University of California, Berkeley. While living in Honolulu, she was personal secretary to retired USAF General Hunter Harris. Prior to that she was a secretary at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Cathedral and Central Union Preschool. After moving to Maui in 1975, she worked for more than twenty years, until her retirement, as executive assistant to the director of Hale Makua. She is survived by her husband of sixty years, Richard L. Nelson, and son Ronald D. Nelson of Maui, daughter Marjorie Nelson Matthews of New Hampshire, and sister, Lynette Phillips of California, as well as five grandchildren. A celebration of Eleanor’s life will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 8992 Kula highway, Kula, on Thursday, December 15, at 4 p.m. The family suggests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Maui Humane Society, P.O. She is survived by three of her children, her grandchildren Aaron, Khristine, Jorden and T.J. and her brothers Chuck and Richard.
