ELEANOR LAUNDY NELSON
ELEANOR LAUNDY NELSON In Loving Memory Eleanor Laundy Nelson, 81, of Kula, died at home on November 28, 2011. She was born in Berkeley, California, and resided for much of her life in Honolulu. Eleanor attended the University of California, Berkeley. While living in Honolulu, she was personal secretary to retired USAF General Hunter Harris. Prior to that she was a secretary at St. Andrew's Episcopal Cathedral and Central Union Preschool. After moving to Maui in 1975, she worked for more than twenty years, until her retirement, as executive assistant to the director of Hale Makua. She is survived by her husband of sixty years, Richard L. Nelson, and son Ronald D. Nelson of Maui, daughter Marjorie Nelson Matthews of New Hampshire, and sister, Lynette Phillips of California, as well as five grandchildren. A celebration of Eleanor's life will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church, 8992 Kula highway, Kula, on Thursday, December 15, at 4 p.m. The family suggests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Maui Humane Society, P.O.
