Edward Kaaumoana "Mona" Kalima Sr., 90, of Hilo, an Army and Hawaii Army National Guard veteran, and a retired Hawaii County Economic Opportunity Council driver, died in Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Hilo. He is survived by wife Janet; sons Edward Jr. and Eldowayne; daughters Leevan Kalima, Leonell "Leo" Kuali‘i and Charlotte Brawley; adopted daughter Pikake K. Smallan; brothers Joseph "Square" Jr. and Norman; sister Alma "Kamalukukui" Welborn; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Visitation: 9 a.m. Friday at Haili Congregational Church. Services: 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 1. Casual attire.
