Myron James "Ito" Van Gieson, 73, of Waianae, a retired Army master sergeant and a retiree from Outdoor Recreation Services at Schofield Barracks, died in Honolulu. He was born in Hilo. He is survived by wife Rose M., son Jonah, daughters Myrene and Jackie, sisters Marlene Pae and Annette Nao, five grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Visitation: 6 p.m. Thursday at Mililani Mortuary-Waipio, mauka chapel. Services: 7 p.m. Casual attire. Flowers welcome.
