FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

PETER SAY JAU CHUN
PETER SAY JAU CHUN 88, of Honolulu, Hawaii, devoted and beloved husband, father, Goong Goong, brother, uncle and friend, went home to be with the Lord on December 2, 2011. Peter graduated from Farrington High School where he was a star basketball player. He was a member of the Hawaii All Star Basketball team which travelled for four months across the United States playing exhibition games with the Harlem Globetrotters. Peter was a successful life insurance executive and was a member of the Million Dollar Roundtable. He was head of the Hawaii office of Canada Life for 35 years. Peter was also active in community service and served, at various times as President of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce, United Chinese Society, See Dai Doo Society, Hawaii Chinese Civic Assoication and the Chun Society. He is survived by his wife, Daisy, daughters Sandi Chun (Jeff Harris), Debbie Haller (Paul), Coralie Matayoshi (Ron) and Corinne Kosaki (Randy), eleven grandchilden (Sara, Amanda, Peter Harris, Anjanel and Sharine Haller, Scot, Kelly and Alana Matayoshi, and Erica and Christian Lee and Reece Kosaki), brother, Albert, sisters, Dorothy Loo and Beatrice Murakami. A Celebration of Life will be held on December 29 at the Community Church of Honolulu, 2345 Nuuanu Avenue. Visitation 3:30-5 pm, Service at 5 pm. Please join us for Dinner following the service. No flowers or floral wreaths please. Instead, the family suggests a donation to Palama Settlement. Palama Settlement played a big part in the lives of Peter and his siblings. They spent many happy hours there. Please send the checks made payable to Palama Settlement to one of his daughters or proffer it at the church. Aloha Attire.
