76Gilbert Henry "Gobble" Waiau Sr., 58, of Kalapana, Hawaii, a Hawaii County Department of Parks and Recreation maintenance employee, died at home. He was born in Hilo. He is survived by wife Lani Makuakane-Waiau; sons Ikaika and Gilbert "Hana" Jr.; daughters Tarsha "Lei" Gouveia and Nicole "Niki" Walker; brothers Simon Waiau, Jason Harris and John Sweezy; sisters Paulette Wright, Pearl J.K. Waiau-Walston, Annie Waiau-Alvarez and Pansy Tirado; and eight grandchildren. Visitation: 7:30 a.m. Friday at Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mass: 9:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Pahoa Catholic Cemetery. Casual attire.
