81Apio Afook Ung, 101, of Hilo, a retired Hawaii Tribune-Herald district circulation manager and Ford Island civilian employee during World War II, died at home. He was born in Hilo. He is survived by son Edwin; daughter Carolyn Irvine; sisters Eloise Stolz, Lois Brooks and Eleanor Chu; and two grandchildren. No services.
