NANCY CHIEKO SAKURAI
Age 71, passed away on December 26, 2011 at Kuakini Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family and extended family, after a valiant battle against recurrent breast cancer (18 year Survivor) and ancillary complications.
Born in Mana, Kauai, Hawaii on September 1, 1940 to Richard Seisuke and Violet Chiyoko Oshiro. She was a former bank officer at Central Pacific Bank - Kalihi branch, and also an officer at Coastal Construction Co., Inc. She loved to golf and was a member of Na Wahine Helu Ekahi Golf Club, where she cultivated many lasting friendships. She was also a member of Urasoe Shijin Kai, and an active member with the Farrington High School Alumni - Class of '58 Reunion Committee. She affected most everyone with her infectious smile, gentle spirit, and giving nature. She will be missed dearly and is forever in our hearts.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Kenneth "Ken" Mitsuru, loving son Darren Mitsuo, loving daughter Joni Mitsuko (Les) Masutani, sisters Jane S. (Richard) Yamaguchi, Karen T. Ichioka, Margie N. Oshiro, Audrey K. (Larry) Gibo, and her beloved grandchildren, the light of her existence, Kaz, Kai, Kryn, Kain, and Klein Masutani, 4 Sisters-In-Law, 2 Brothers-In-Law, 24 nieces and nephews.
Visitation at 4:30 pm at Hosoi Garden Mortuary, Friday, January 20, 2012 followed by services at 6:00 pm. Casual attire. No Flowers.
