David Leon “Dave” Martin, 78, of Pahoa, Hawaii, a retired machinist for McDonnell Douglas and a Navy veteran, died in Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Whittier, Calif. He is survived by wife Josephine; son David T.; stepsons Steven, Jeffrey and Alan Winters; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Private services.
