Manuel Soares, 88, of Aiea, a retired transportation operations lead foreman at Fort Shafter and an Army veteran, died in Pali Momi Medical Center. He was born in Koloa, Kauai. He is survived by wife Tove; sons Isaacs Soares and Robert, Mitchell, Aaron and Mark Freitas; daughters Ingrid Burrows and Rennay Angut; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Private services.
