Jean Jackson, 98, of Honolulu died peacefully at Pohai Nani, having lived a full life. Born and raised in New York City, she raised her family in Alpine New Jersey together with husband Hugh Jackson, President of the Better Business Bureau of Greater New York City. Prior to moving to Hawaii in 1974, Jean was a leader in community affairs, including serving as the founder and first director of the Volunteer Bureau of Bergen County, New Jersey. She was known in Honolulu as an avid golfer and a volunteer extraordinaire, honored in 2000 by the American Red Cross for its Everyday Hero Award for her work at the Community Clearinghouse and Helping Hands Hawaii. Jean is survived by daughters Pam Isayama and Pat Lipman, 6 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren,. There will be an Evening of Shared Memories at the Isayama home in Kaneohe on January 25.
Age 96, of Kapolei, Hawaii, passed away January 11, 2012 in Kapolei. Born February 1, 1915 in Madison County, Iowa. She followed the rainbow to Hawaii to enjoy her remaining years with her daughter. She was a lifetime member of Nanaikapono Hawaiian Civic Club.

79, of Honolulu, died January 11, 2012 at the Queen’s Medical Center. She was born Therese Marie in Honolulu on September 30, 1932, attended St. Anthony School (Kalihi Kai), St. Theresa School and Farrington High School. She worked briefly as a secretary for St. Patrick (Kaimuki), then joined the Sisters of the Sacred Hearts in 1952. For 32 years, Sister served in school and parish ministry at St. Patrick and Maria Regina, Garden, Ca. primarily teaching Second Grade as well as coordinating the religion program. She prepared her pupils in school and in the parish CCD classes to receive their First Communion. In 1995, Sister was assigned to St. Anthony Retreat Center, Kalihi, where she provided hospitality for retreatants and distributed altar bread to parishes. Sr. Marie Therese is survived by sister, Esther (Solomon) Paakaula; hanai brother, John Gomes; hanai sister, Marie Olsen of Maui, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
