Hannah Mariah Kawelu Kaupiko

Hannah Mariah Kawelu Kaupiko, 95, of Hilo, a retired salesclerk at the former S.H. Kress Store, a kupuna at Waiakea Elementary School and ‘Aha Punana Leo School, and master gardener at University of Hawaii-Hilo, died at home. She was born in Waiohino, Hawaii. She is survived by daughters Alberta "Lale" Nathaniel, Darlene Amaral and Theola "Ola" Pacheco; hanai sister Caroline Poha; caregiver Kimberly "Kimi" Pacheco; nine grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Visitation: 5 p.m. Friday at Haili Congregational Church, Hilo. Services: 7 p.m. Additional visitation: 8 a.m. Saturday at the church. Services: 9 a.m. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park, Lehua Section. Aloha attire.
