He was born in Kealakekua, Hawaii. He is survived by sons Austin and Aidan, hanai son Tevin Tuvera, brothers David and Roman, and sisters Irene, Euvonne and Tracy Mae. John K. Holi, Sr., born 26th of December 1926, passed away surrounded by his family, 10th of January 2012 at 85 years of age. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Dominca (Minnie); 2 daughters, Linda (Kevin) Ahrens from Washington, Sylvia (Tony) Acosta; son, John Jr. (Jeannine); and brother, Robert (Mitsuko) from Hilo. Born in Honolulu, Dad proudly served in the Army in WWII. 42 years at the U.S. Post Office, Dad enjoyed diving, music, sports and bi-annual trips with Mom to Las Vegas, Washington & Canada. Dad played semi-pro basketball in his 20′s, winning championships as a high scorer in 23 states across the country. Dad loved spending time with his 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Emma; brothers Harrison, Pete; & nephews Wayne & David. Dad left us a legacy of love and many cherished memories. A memorial for family and friends will be held to honor Dad at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary, Kaneohe on January 26, 2012 at 10:30 a.m.
