Frank Yoshiji Funada, the son of the late Shirgeru and Wakayo Funada, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2012 at the age of 84. He was born on December 9, 1927 in Lanai, HI and had been a longtime resident of Gardena, CA. He was the original owner of Frank’s Carburetors until 1982 and was able to spend many enjoyable years fishing and golfing in his retirement. Frank is survived by his loving wife, Ellen; daughters, Fay Hara (Robin), Joy Higbee, Debbie Funada (Brett Shuler); grandchildren, Chris Higbee, Jill and Allison Hara; and many loving siblings, in-laws, nieces and nephews. Passed away peacefully at home on January 8, 2012.

Lani was born in Honolulu on October 30, 1938 and was a graduate of Kamehameha Schools, Class of 1956. She retired from Hawaiian Airlines as a customer service agent.

She is survived by brother, William G. Aki; sisters, Charlene Dibelka, Cathy Clint, Manono McMillan; and Allan Soong. Lani’s caregiver was Dorothy J. Lonnon.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2012, at Bishop Memorial Chapel of the Kamehameha Schools. Visitation at 8:30am, Services at 10:30am. No flowers.
