HARRIET K. SOONG

Formerly from Kailua-Kona, passed away on Jan. 2, 2012.

Harriet was a Master at traditional Hawaiian quilting and an accomplished lauhala weaver. Her quilts have hung in museums across the nation, Canada and Hawaii. She has appeared as a featured artist in exhibitions sponsored by Michigan State University Museum and the Smithsonian National Museum.

She is survived by brothers, Herbert and Kenneth Kimseu. Children Carlton (Liz) Soong Dan (Deedee) Soong and Kirsten (Allan) Los Banos. Grandchildren Kai, Chava, Sarah, Rebekah, Allan, Aedward, Alexander, Andrea and 4 great-grandchildren.

Services are on Saturday, Feb.11 at the Bishop Memorial
Chapel. Viewing begins at 8:30 AM with services to follow at 9:30 AM. Aloha attire and a lauhala hat, if you have one.
