Captain Robert “Bull” Curtis, 69, of Honolulu, career naval officer and Merrill Lynch financial advisor, died at Tripler Army Medical Center. He was born in Des Moines, Iowa and served 28 years in the U.S. Navy as a naval aviator flying the A-4 Skyhawk, A-7 Corsair II and F-8 Crusader. Serving numerous tours in Vietnam he would earn the Purple Heart and Distinguished Flying Cross. Commands held included VC-1 at Barbers Point and the Barking Sands Pacific Missile Range Facility. He was predeceased by wife Judith Ann, son John Martin and daughter Catherine Ann. He is survived by wife, Shirley; son, Mike and sister, Martha. Services 2pm, Friday, February 17th at First Presbyterian Church of Honolulu. Flowers welcome.

ANNELIESE W. MOORE

On Saturday, February 11, 2012, Anneliese W. Moore passed away after a brief hospital stay.

Anneliese was 97 years old and lived in Kailua for the last 50 years.

She was born in Tempelhof Berlin, Germany in 1914 and married Paul R. Moore following the Berlin airlift. They moved to Hawaii in 1949.

She was an assistant professor of modern languages at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Following her retirement she appeared regularly on the television exercise show filmed in Hawaii, Body by Janis.

Her husband Paul died in 1990. She is survived by her son John A. Moore of Tewksbury Township, New Jersey and two grandchildren, Sean P. Moore of San Antonio, Texas and Dr. Timothy S. Moore of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Services will be held privately.
