FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

ALICE SUZUKI WAKI
ALICE SUZUKI WAKI (April 20, 1913 - February 11, 2012) Daughter of Hosaku and Sao Suzuki, born on Oahu, HI; four brothers:Masao, Henry, Kunio and Mitsuo: graduated from the UH (Manoa BS ED) taught in Kona and Kohala High and Elem. for 36 1/2 years. She was honored in the 1974 edition of the Outstanding Elementary Teachers of America for her exemplary contributions as an educator and for her commendable service to her church (Kalahikiola Congregational Ch.) and community. She served as Deaconess, secretary and choir member. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Jack Shizuo Waki and is survived by her son, Howard Y. Waki (Lafayette, CA), daughter, Norma W. Jordan and only grandchild, Jerry D. Jordan both of Shoreline, WA where Alice spent the last 10 years of her life), her youngest brother, Mitsuo Suzuki and several other relatives on Oahu and the Big Is. A memorial will follow on a later date in Kohala.
