JAMES “JIM” “AL” ALVIAR SR.

Age 78, of Aiea, Hawaii, passed away February 9, 2012 in Kailua. Born October 16, 1933 in Waimea, Kauai. Retired Gunnery Sergeant United States Marine Corps. Employed as a Corrections Educational Specialist at the Women’s Community Correctional Center. Commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Fort Shafter Post 10276.

He is survived by wife, Carol L. Alviar; sons, Harlando (Natasha) La Madrid Jr., James (Cris) Alviar Jr., Daniel (Shannon) La Madrid; daughters, Jacy (Gregory) Campbell, Jodie (Heinere) Itchner, Jennifer (Keneke) Alviar; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Rose Alviar, Connie Travis, Juanita “Nita” (Anthony) Chandler.

Visitation 8:30 a.m. Thursday (March 15) at Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel; Prayer Service 10:00 a.m. Committal Service 1:00 p.m. at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. Casual Attire. Flowers Welcome.
