Dr. Howard Gady, M.D.
DR. HOWARD GADY, M.D. In loving memory of devoted husband and father Dr. Howard Gady, M.D. (age 81) of Kaneohe, Hawaii who passed away on Sunday March 18, 2012 in Kailua, Oahu. He was born July 1, 1930 in the Bronx, NY July 1, 1930 to Benjamin Gady and Ida (Cohen) Gady. He was a graduate of Fiorello LaGuardia High School of Music and Art in New York and went on to receive a Master's degree in music from University of Arizona. He became a band instructor with the Camden, NJ school system and then was drafted into the US Army during the Korean War and was stationed at Camp Zama, Japan. After his service he obtained a degree in pharmacy from Rutgers University in 1959. After managing as a pharmacist and owning his own pharmacy business in San Diego, CA he pursued a medical degree, graduating from Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, Mexico in 1973. He completed his residency at Kuakini Hospital and obtained employment at Pearl Harbor Shipyard Naval Health Clinic Hawaii as their Occupational Medicine Physician giving 37+ years of dedicated government service. Throughout his life he maintained an interest in music and became a self-taught expert in jade jewelry. He is survived by his wife May, daughter Koralee Gady Asbee, son Barrett Gady and six grandchildren. Memorial service to be held at Castle Hospital Chapel in Kailua from 11-12 am on 3/24/12, casual dress.
