DR. CLIFFORD KOON WAI CHOCK

85, of Honolulu, peaceably passed away on March 14, 2012 at St. Francis Hospice. He was born on May 29, 1926 in Honolulu and was the youngest of 13 children of Chock Chee and Lau Ah Look. He graduated from Temple University Medical School in Philadelphia in 1949. In the 55 years as an anesthesiologist, he organized the first private anesthesia group in Honolulu and was part of the first transplant team at St. Francis Hospital. He will be remembered by his family and friends as a great father, brother, uncle, and respected colleague. He is now reunited with his wife, Polly, who he loved dearly.

HERBERT H. KIKUKAWA
1934-2012

Herbert H. Kikukawa of Kaneohe, Hawaii passed away peacefully at Castle Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, February 7, 2012. He was 77. Born and raised in Kaunakakai, Molokai, he was a graduate of Lahainaluna High, Marquette University and Michigan State University where he studied forestry. Herb served in the US Army and Army Reserve, retiring as a Lt. Colonel in 1986. His passion was in his 33-year career as a forester with the State of Hawaii. For 28 years he served as the Oahu District Forester and later Oahu District Land Manager where he oversaw the island’s Division of Forestry and Wildlife before retiring in 1996. Many people enjoy Oahu via the trails that were planned and developed under his guidance. He loved the outdoors, he loved these islands and he loved his family.

Herb was predeceased by his mother Mayo Kimura, father Yukio Kikukawa, brother George Kikukawa, sister Edith Lum and son Thomas Kikukawa.

He is survived by his sister Alicia Lum, son Randall Kikukawa and partner Gregory Fisher, son Robert Kikukawa and wife Merle Kikukawa, daughter Susan Lewis and husband Stephan Lewis, daughter Anne Kikukawa and husband Reed Lewis, son Gregory Kikukawa and partner Anabel Sarpamones, son David Kikukawa, son John Pacada and daughter Allyson Ebalaroza and husband Troy Ebalaroza. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Daniel Kikukawa, Ryan Sills, Torey Kikukawa, Joelle Kikukawa, Elijah Ebalaroza, Taylon Ebalaroza and Kobe Ebalaroza.
