81Alethea Fernandes, 76, of Lihue, a retired special-education teacher, died at home. She was born in Waimea, Kauai. She is survived by sons Chris and Don, daughters Julie Chong and Penny Fernandes, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Visitation: 9 a.m. Saturday at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa.
