Joseph Welton Ledbetter, 68, of Pearl City, a retired Honolulu Police Department lieutenant and an Army National Guard veteran, died in Straub Clinic & Hospital. He was born in Oakland, Calif. He is survived by wife Soonie Park-Ledbetter; daughters Jill Panos, Jolynn "Anela" Garcia-Ledbetter, Jessica Chun, and Shea and Marie-Louise Ledbetter; stepsons Thomas and Louis Santos; stepdaughter Pomai Santos; brothers Bill and Fred Ortman; sisters Janet "Jodie" Jenkins and Fran "Lynne" Kauwe; hanai brother Phillip Sunada; and seven grandchildren. Visitation: 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary. Services: 6:30 p.m. Cremation to follow. Private scattering of ashes.
