WILFRED S. PANG
90, of Honolulu passed away peacefully at Manoa Cottages on April 12, 2012. He was born in Kula, Maui and is survived by his sister Evelyn P. Chun and brother Stanley Pang (Mary) of Ripon, California and many nieces and nephews. Wilfred attended Iolani School (Class of 1940) and the University of Hawaii. He worked for Matson Navigation Company, Mid-Pacific Insurance Agency, and the State of Hawaii as the Executive Director for the Criminal Injuries Compensation Commission.
Wilfred was committed to community service and volunteering. He was active with organizations such as the Honolulu Chinatown Lions Club which he was a Founder and Life Member, Palolo Chinese Home, Mun Lun School, the Elks Club Honolulu Lodge No. 616, Aisen Shiatsu School, Iolani School Alumni Association, and the Hawaii Heritage Center. He conducted classes in Tai Chi, Qigong and
Healing Arts at Nuuanu Congregational Church, led exercises at the Palolo Chinese Home and Central Union Adult Day Care Center, provided massage at the Honolulu Marathon, proctored the Hawaii State bar exam, and was a court docent for the Volunteer in Public Service Program.
For leisure Wilfred enjoyed playing the organ, piano, ukulele, mah jong and ballroom dancing. Wilfred was proud of his accomplishments and known for his skills in tai chi, karate, qigong, massage, shiatsu, ki, reiki, and feng shui. Until recently, Wilfred was involved in these activities which he held dear to him.
Celebration of Life on Monday May 7, 2012 at Diamond Head Mortuary. Visitation at 10:00 a.m, service at 11:30 a.m with burial to follow at Diamond Head Memorial Park. Aloha attire.
