Helen Julia Ellis, 84, of Wai•anae, a Royal Grove head housekeeper and state Department of Health retiree, died in Makaha. She was born in Honolulu. She is survived by sons Michael Alapai, and Herman R. Jr., Gary, Steven, Gordon, Dana and Timothy Ellis; daughters Donna Przygoda and Sharon Ellis; stepson Herman K.; 34 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
