Marcelino Pascual “Celin” Gabriel, 100, of Papaikou, Hawaii, a former rice farmer in the Ilocos region of the Philippines and a retired Mauna Kea Sugar Co. planting machine crewman, died in Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Camangaan, Laoag City, Philippines. He is survived by sons Andy, Terry and Bernard; daughter Perpetua Melchor; brother Juan; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Visitation: 5 p.m. Monday at Dodo Mortuary, Hilo. Services: 6:30 p.m. Additional visitation:
9 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Papaikou. Mass: 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park, Ilima Section, Hilo. Work or casual attire.
