Dr. Ben Dee McCallister, 79, of Waimea, Hawaii, a retired heart specialist for St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., an Army physician at Tripler Army Medical Center and an Army veteran, died at home. He was born in Kansas City. He is survived by wife Virginia; sons Ben Jr., Scott, John and Thomas; daughter Katherine Cubba; brother Larry; and 16 grandchildren. Services to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations suggested to Alzheimer's Association, North Hawaii Hospice or Annunciation/Ascension Catholic Church.
