Although she struggled with diabetic blindness, kidney failure, nerve pain and was in wheel chair she never stopped trying to help others. 88, of Kailua, passed from this life peacefully in a quiet and elegant manner with no pain on May 31, 2012, at Hale Ho Aloha, Honolulu.
Born in Wahiawa on April 14, 1924, Pat was the oldest child of Chung Oh Cho and Bok Yun Hong. Her siblings are John Cho (Elaine), Evelyn Cho Helmly (Frank), Agnes Nam Markwith-Dudash (Paul), and Gloria Jean Nam Spencer (Lee.)
In 1944, she married Herbert (Buster) North and had 3 sons: Gary (Barbara), Joby, and Herbert, Jr.
She has 6 grandchildren: Scott, Ann (Jose), Joby (Lokelani), Susan (George), Leslie, and Herbie as well as 8 great grandchildren: Gary, Alejandro, Emily, Graeme, Maxwell, Scotty, Joby III and Shiloh.
A memorial fund in her honor has been established at the Hawaii Food Bank, 2611 Kikihou St., Honolulu, HI 96819.
Services will be held at The Episcopal Church of the Holy Nativity in Aina Haina on Friday, June 22, 2012: 1:30pm Greeting of Family 2:00pm Service

Loving Husband and Father
Charles, “Chuck”, Kenneth McGibboney, 79, passed away May 21st 2012 in Frisco, Texas with his youngest son by his side. Charles was a retired civil servant and a Navy veteran.
Charles McGibboney was born on December 31st 1932 in Irving Texas. He was one of eleven children born to Fred D. McGibboney Sr. and Juanita Elizabeth Hanford (predeceased). He played both football and baseball in high school. After graduating Irving High School he joined the United States Navy and was stationed in Hawaii, where he was a pitcher on Hawaii’s Sub-Pac and Asahi baseball teams, entertaining the servicemen. Charles later turned down an offer to play professional baseball for the St. Louis Cardinals and opted instead to care for his young family.
It was on Oahu where he met the love of his life, Hazel Lena Farias. They married and shared a life together for fifty six years. During that time Charles, Hazel, and their three sons moved to Texas where he became an Irving, Texas police officer in the motorcycle division. After a few years the family returned to Hawaii where Charles worked as a civil servant supervising the moves of military families. Charles and Hazel moved back to Texas in 2011.
Charles loved island life, the Dallas Cowboys, country music, but most of all his beloved family.
Charles, is survived by his wife, Hazel Lena McGibboney, of Plano, Texas. Sons: Karl Adrian McGibboney and wife, Julie (deceased), of Honolulu, Hawaii; John Farias McGibboney and wife, Rebecca, of Lahaina, Hawaii; Nathan Michael McGibboney and wife, Chris, of McKinney, Texas. Brother: Vernon McGibboney of Athens, Texas. Sisters: Fay Dycus and husband Ray, of Tool, Texas; Barbara Boykin and husband Gerald, of Tool, Texas; Frances Powley of Euless, Texas; Peggy Branch of Irving, Texas; Linda Abraham and husband Sammy, of Flower Mound, Texas. Brother-in-law: John Farias Jr. and wife Dianne, of Honolulu, Hawaii. Sister-in-law: Patricia Grossman and husband Manford, of Alberta, Canada. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
He was loved by many and is greatly missed.
No services are scheduled.
