HELEN TOYOKO FUJITA
Helen Toyoko Fujita, age 89, passed away at Queen's Medical Center on May 12, 2012. Helen was born in Honolulu on June 16, 1922 to Shigeru and Sato Shiota. Up until her death, she served as principal of Waialae Japanese School, an institution which she and her late husband, Reverend George M. Fujita, founded in 1955. She is survived by her son, James N. (Gail) Fujita; granddaughters Lori Ann K. (Vince) Stanec, Lea Ann T. Hershman; grandson Lance K. (Kara) Fujita and six great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. and services at 10:00 a.m. at Hosoi Garden Mortuary. Aloha attire. The family requests no flowers.
