Age 94, of Aliamanu, a retired Biltmore Hotel and then Moana Surfrider Hotel worker, passed away peacefully at Queen’s Hospital in Honolulu surrounded by family. She was born in Honolulu and grew up in Kaneohe. She was a long time member of Palama Higashi Hongwangi, Kumamoto Kenjin-kai, Oahu Shinwa Kai, Salt Lake Senior Citizen’s Club, and Kapiolani Hospital Volunteers Crafters.
She is survived by daughter Patricia (Thomas) Nitta; brothers Masaru, Toshiaki and Thompson Sakata; sisters Rae Kobayashi, Gladys Sakata and Jeanne Chee; daughters-in-law Charlotte Fujieda and Corinne Fujieda; brother-in-law Teruo (Phyllis) Nosaka; 8 grandchildren Shari Ann (Brian) Daluson, Byron (Johnalyn) Fujieda, Karlynn (Ross) Tanaka, Garret (Laurie) Fujieda, Stacy (Rebecca) Fujieda, Sarah (Michael) Baker, Scott (Maryn) Fujieda, Eric Uyema; 13 great-grand-children; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 9:00am – 10:00am on Saturday, June 30th at Hosoi Mortuary. Services to follow at 10:00am. Casual attire. No flowers please.
