Benjamin Shinichi Yamada, 97, of Kaneohe, a time keeper accountant at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard, an Army veteran who served in World War II with the 100th Battalion and a Purple Heart recipient, died in Castle Medical Center. He was born in Lahaina. He is survived by wife Thelma T. Private services.
