James "Jim" Philson, 73, of Aiea, a retired Marine Corps captain and former owner of a Subway Sandwiches restaurant, died in Aiea. He was born in Pittsburgh. He is survived by wife Judith, son James R. II, daughter Jacqueline F. and four grandchildren. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl. Celebration of life: 6 p.m. Aug. 3 at Camp H.M. Smith Sunset Lanai. Casual attire. In lieu of flowers, donations suggested to Alcoholics Anonymous Oahu Central Office or Al-Anon Family Groups.
