Age 95, of Honolulu, passed away July 9, 2012 at home. Born November 21, 1916 in Makawao, Maui.
She is survived by son, William (Louise) Alina; daughter, Maile Gentry; 4 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation 10:00 a.m. Thursday 7/26 at St. Patrick Church, 1124 7th Avenue, Program 11:00 a.m., Mass 11:30 a.m. Burial 12:45 p.m. at Diamond Head Memorial Park. Aloha Attire.

ELIZABETH KAM YAU CHING
Age 88, passed away at Tripler Army Medical Center and met her Lord and Savior on June 16, 2012. She reunites with her husband, Robert H. Ching and son, Earl M.T. Ching. Elizabeth was born in Honolulu on September 2, 1923 to Mew and Violet A.Y. (Chang) Wong and graduated from Farrington High School. Before her retirement as the See Dai Doo Society Building Manager, she was active in the Ching Clan Benevolent Society, See Dai Doo Society, and Chinese Catholic Club.
She is survived by her daughter, Roberta Y.K. Tom (Leonard Y.M.); brothers Gerald Y.K. Wong (Gwen) from California and Lowell Y.M. Wong (Merle); sister Loretta “Macky” K.H. Mactagone; daughter -in-law Christina “Tina” Q. Ching; grandchildren Brandon K.W. Tom (Jamie), Liane S.L. Lim (Bedora “Jeff”), Kelli Anne Y.L. Ching, and great granddaughter, Kaelyn Marie Lim.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 27, 2012 at 8:30 am and services at 9:30 am at Borthwick Mortuary – Mauka. Burial will follow at 11:00 am at Hawaiian Memorial Park.

John J. Medeiros, 83, of Kailua, a Republican state House legislator representing Windward Oahu for 18 years until 1986, died. He was also a delegate to the state Constitutional Convention in 1968, chairman of the Oahu Advisory Council from 1969 to 1970 and a Hawaii State Boxing Commission member for many years. He is survived by wife Gloria Medeiros, son Dwaine Medeiros, daughters Pamela Stier and Cindy Maser, sisters Florence Puana and Rose Fryer, 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Two sons, Damien Medeiros and Dwight Medeiros, died earlier. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. July 31 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Kailua; burial: 1 p.m. Aug. 1 at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl.
