ROBERT BRADFORD MARTIN “BRAD”
1957-2012
Suddenly, unexpectedly, Brad Martin passed away Monday, July 30th. He left behind a family who loved him greatly, wife Robin, daughters Lauren and Kelly, sister Ann, brothers Peter and Steve, and a wonderful mother Nancy as well as a network of greatly valued friends and clients.
Brad attended Punahou School and the University of Kansas. He was a commercial insurance broker with Insurance Factors, an avid tennis player, golfer, and skier, and loved being on the water and at the beach.
Brad lived his 54 years with a spirit of adventure and a love of life and all those around him. His wife always teased him because whenever Brad mentioned someone, even someone she had never heard of in their 20 years of marriage, he said, “Great Guy!! A really good friend!” That is simply how Brad saw those he lived, worked and played with over the years.
Brad loved excitement of any kind. Venturing out with his daughters on their monthly adventure with his father daughter group, traveling to the far reaches of the globe, or simply rushing down the street to see what was causing the ruckus in the neighborhood all gave Brad joy. Camera and binoculars in hand, Brad was excited to tackle the world.
Brad has moved on now but all who love him know that his spirit is out there enjoying the next big event.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers donations can made to the Kapiolani Health Foundation, 55 Merchant Street #2600, Honolulu, HI 96813, or KapiolaniGift.org.

TERRENCE DESMOND LOUI
“TERRY”
Age 53 died at home on May 24, 2012, in Honolulu, Hawaii from complications secondary to strokes. Terry was born on March 5, 1959, in Honolulu, Hawaii. He was a retired information hardware and software technologist, local area network specialist and systems analyst.
He was 7 years old when it was discovered he had a rapidly growing brain tumor. The prognosis was poor, and the doctors predicted he would live 5 years. He was given experimentally high irradiation treatments when the tumor could not be removed in the entirety. This resulted in extensive brain damages. He was on life sustaining drugs for many years and suffered from many TIA episodes and strokes. However, he survived 41 more years than prognosticated. He graduated from Punahou School in 1978 and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1982 in computer science from Chaminade University of Honolulu. The road he traveled was full of potholes and roadblocks, but he met each challenge with determination and great courage.
While working at Wheeler Army Air Field in Honolulu, Hawaii, he was recognized by the Defense Information System Agency-Pacific area for answering and resolving over 300 trouble calls in a two months period for a varying staff of 60-100 people. He was honored as employee of the month for Region 9, which encompasses the West Coast and Pacific area, for his knowledge, efficiency and effectiveness. Prior to his medical retirement he worked for the Hawaii Department of Health, Health Information Systems Office and assigned to the State Health Insurance Program. He also did volunteer work for many non-profit organizations during his lifetime.
Terry is survived by his mother, Florence J. Chinn, M.D. (Florence Chinn Loui), brothers; Professor Michael C. Loui (Cynthia), Warren R. Loui, Esq. (Rose), William S. Loui, M.D. (Sheree) and Professor Ronald P. Loui (Melissa); nephews Eric, Jeremy, Nicholas, Ryan, Thomas, Kyle, Alexander, and Gregory; nieces Samantha and Natalie.
Memorial service will be held on August 17, 2012 at Mystical Rose Oratory at Chaminade University in Honolulu, Hawaii. Visitation 10:30am-11am. Service at 11:00am. Inurnment will be in Sacramento, CA on September 1, 2012 at Masonic Lawn Association Cemetery.
