JAMES HISASHI MIYAMURA
JAMES HISASHI MIYAMURA James Hisashi Miyamura passed away peacefully in his sleep in Napa, CA on Monday, July 2nd at the age of 80. James was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on November 10, 1931 and grew up living on Akepo Lane. He attended Hawaiian Mission Academy through high school. After graduating from Business School, he served in the Army during the Korean War. In his younger years, he was an avid bowler and also enjoyed softball and golfing. He was a civil service worker for 33 years, affiliated with the Marine Corp Air Station at Kaneohe, the 14th Coast Guard District at Honolulu, and the Navy, which sent him and his family to various naval installations from Pearl Harbor to Yokosuka, Japan, New Orleans, San Diego and Vallejo. He retired in October of 1988 but soon returned to a fulltime position, working for Big D Products as their Office Manager and finally retiring for good in June 1995. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Amy, daughters Lee and Anne, and 4 of his 8 siblings and their families; sisters Helene (Ronald) Yamamoto, Edith (Donald, deceased) Radcliffe, Betsy (Pierson) Koike and brother, Henry (Marianne, deceased). His sisters Ethel and Loretta (Edward) Pestrello and brothers, Donald (Georgianna) and Clifton predeceased him. Private services for family were held in Napa and Hawaii.
