GERALD J. REGO Of Wahiawa went home to the Lord on August 1, 2012. He passed on peacefully surrounded by his family at the age of 65. Born and raised in Waialua, he worked at the Waialua Sugar Company for 30 years as a heavy equipment operator and ended his career at its closure in 1996 as a Harvesting Supervisor. A loving and devoted husband, father, Papa/Pops, and loyal friend, he embraced and touched the lives of everyone he met with his brand of "Portuguese Aloha" and his kindness and generosity. Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Barbara "Mayumi", daughter Tezra Lee, sons Jason and Kevin Rego, grandchildren Andrew "Kekoa" Egnew and Abrielle Lee, hanai sons Walter Espiritu, Winfield Alambatin, Matthew Bull and Ryan Choy, brothers Wilfred and Clarence (Becky) Rego, sisters Aileen (Dickie) Achiu, Geraldine (Howard) Uyesugi, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00 p.m. on September 22, 2012 at 228 Kilea Place, Wahiawa. Casual attire.
