LYNN “POPO” ISHIDA ESTES
Age 57 years, of Honolulu, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on August 31, 2012. Born Lynn Kathryn Ishida in Chicago, Illinois on April 3, 1955, Lynn was raised in Nu’uanu by her parents Lincoln J. and Ruth H. Ishida. After attending Punahou High School and the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Lynn worked as a restaurant server, attending to her customers most recently at Kincaid’s at Ward Warehouse. She is survived by her beloved son, Jeremiah O. (Jenia) Estes; father Lincoln J. Ishida; grandmother Masae Ishida of Kealakekua; brothers Lane T. (Jo Ann) Ishida, Lyle M. Ishida and Leigh R. (Nicole) Ishida; one grandson, Jette L. Estes; three nieces Lauren M. Ishida, Elise H. Ishida and Robyn M. Ishida; one nephew, Dylan A. Ishida; and very good friend Wendy L. Ishida.
Lynn, affectionately known to her entire family as “Popo” since she was a little child, enjoyed her hobbies of travel, cooking and skiing in Oregon and Alaska, together with her lifelong obsession of reading, a passion she inherited from her mother, Ruth, also a voracious reader who preceded her to our Lord’s Kingdom in 2001. Aloha attire. No flowers, please.
Friends may call on Tuesday, September 18, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. at Nu’uanu Congregational Church, 2651 Pali Highway. A memorial service conducted by Reverend Pastor Ede Steele and Reverend Pastor Tom Fujita will commence at 6:00 p.m.

WILLIAM JAMES ROBERT LEMKE
Mr. Lemke passed away on August 6, 2012. He was born on December 8, 1927 and is survived by sister, Emilie L. Williams, and numerous nephews, nieces and their children and grandchildren. Mr. Lemke attended Saint Louis; graduated from Punahou in 1945; Santa Clara University in 1951 and attended University of San Francisco Law School. He was a veteran of World War II. He married Elizabeth Stephens, a Punahou Classmate, and a San Francisco College for Women graduate who later got her teacher’s certificate and taught in the San Francisco Bay Area. She was descended from a Kama’aina Family,Napopohoehou, Baker and Booth. She passed away in California in January, 1983. Mr. Lemke worked for various CPA firms in Hawaii and California. In California, while attending Law School, he worked for A. Stanley Dollar Subsidiary (Globe Wireless Company). He later worked for McKesson & Robbins for 15 years and 15 years at Haas Brothers (liquor distributors) in the San Francisco Bay Area. He retired in 1984 and returned to Hawaii, the land of his heritage. On his Father’s side, has German Grandparents who settled here in the 1880’s. Grandfather was a tailor and Father was a buyer for Hackfeld and later Amfac for a period of over 53 years. On his Mother’s paternal side, he was descended from Napopuhoehou whose daughter married Pervier and settled in Maui in the 1800-1810 period. On his Mother’s maternal side, he was descended from Nahiolea, Kahokua,Kahalewai and Robinson ancestors. Mr. Lemke was a member of the German Benevolent Society of Honolulu, Punahou Alumni Association, Santa Clara Alumni Association and the Knights of Pythias. Memorial Services are planned for 9:00 a.m., Friday, September 28, 2012 at the Oahu Cemetery Chapel followed by internment at the family plot at Oahu cemetery. He joins his German Grandparents and siblings, Herman and Paul Lemke and Adele “Kai” Ostrem. Donations to Punahou School, St Louis High School, Lutheran Church of Honolulu or the charity of your choice.

Age 81, of Mililani, HI, passed away August 23, 2012 in Mililani. Born February 15, 1931 in Honolulu, HI. A retired director of blueprint publishing
shop at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard. Also a 40-year veteran retired Command Sergeant Major of the Hawaii Army National Guard.
He is survived by son, William C.K. (Faith) Mahaulu; daughters, Charlene (Victor) Gautier, Irma (Greg) Taylor, Irene (Kurt) Kapiko; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grand-children; sister, Harriet Liwai.
