82, of Kailua, retired schoolteacher, died September 2 in Shoreline, Washington. Born on Maui, December 2, 1929. Survived by husband, Tetsumi "Tets", brothers Hidehiko, Minoru "Thomas", and Manabu Uyehara, son Robert Kino (Cathy), daughter Kathy Tamura (Taiji), and five grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents Kojun and Ushi, and brother Takano Uyehara. Service: Saturday, October 6 at 10am, Kailua United Methodist Church: 1110 Kailua Road. Private inurnment. Casual or aloha attire. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in support of lung cancer research.
