PHYLLIS M. HIGA
Age 93, of Wahiawa, Hawaii, passed away September 16, 2012 in Wahiawa. Born August 4, 1919 in Pahala, Hawaii. A retired cafeteria manager at Kipapa & Hale Kula Elementary Schools.
She is survived by sons, Raymond (Gerilyn) Higa, Dennis Higa; daughter, Maile (Norman) Kanemaru; 7 grand-children; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Tomio Kanno; sisters, Nora Nakahira, Jane Sasaki, Eleanor Nishi.
Private services were held. No koden, please.

Janice Maurine Smith

JANICE MAURINE SMITH
68, of Honolulu, died September 17, 2012 at Kuakini Medical Center after a short struggle with double pneumonia and a two decade plus valiant fight against Multiple Sclerosis.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 4 at 1:00 PM at Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church, 22182 Canton Road, Albemarle.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ola Mae Herrin Hinson, and her daughter in law, Milagros Piatos Brown.
Janice was born November 24, 1943, in Stanfield, NC and was a proud graduate of the Ridgecrest School system.
She had a career as both a Legal Secretary at a prestigious Charlotte law firm, and as an Executive Secretary at several major companies in Charlotte, to include Arnold Palmer Cadillac and Wachovia.
Janice is survived by her son, Todd Brown, and granddaughters, Jasmine and Alexandra Brown, of Honolulu; and her beloved brother, Larry Smith and his wife Brenda and her older brother, Gareth Smith and his wife Judy, all of Locust. Janice had a deep and abiding love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and she has finally joined Him now in Heaven.
Arrangements are by Moanalua Mortuary in Honolulu and Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle.

Age 85, of Honolulu, passed away September 27, 2012 at Hale Nani Nursing Home. Born December 14, 1926 in Philippines.
She is survived by husband, Gaudencio C. Villamil; sons, Alejandro (Estela) Villamil, Christopher (Remedios) Villamil; daughters, Lourdes Villamil, Avelina (Bill) Crabtree, Josephine (Rodolfo, Jr.) Casilang; brothers, Reynaldo (Mary) Manaois, Benjamin Manaois; sisters, Lourdes (Abraham) Espiritu, Lolly Hortaleza, Preciosa Garin; 18 grandchildren; 8 great-grand-children.
Visitation 4:15 p.m. Thursday 10/4 at Mililani Downtown Mortuary, Prayer Service 5:15 p.m. Final services and burial will be held in the Philippines. Casual Attire. Flowers Welcome.
