ERNEST KAM YOW LEE
ERNEST KAM YOW LEE Passed away peacefully at the age of 91, on August 25, 2012, at home, surrounded by his family. Born on November 26, 1920 in Honolulu, Hawaii, he grew up in Kalihi with a brother, Stanley Lee, and three sisters, Dorothy Richardson (deceased), Beatrice Nunes and Shirley Cockett. Retired after 38 years of service with the U.S. Government - Pearl Harbor, he continued an active life helping at a plant nursery in Waimanalo, going fishing, traveling and visiting with family and friends, and cooking. He could carry on lively discussions on various topics well past his 90th birthday. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Thelma K. M. (Lum) Lee, their two children, daughter Tina (Alex) Marn and son David (Gail) Lee; six grandchildren, Dr. Richard (Dr. Jessica) Marn of New York, New York, Dr. Catherine Marn (Dr. Christopher) Oberholzer, Ryan Marn, Jonathan, Ariel and Joshua Lee and five great-grandchildren, Samuel and Sophia Marn of New York, New York and Thomas, Luke and Claire Oberholzer.
