BERNADETTE EMMA SANTOS SUGANUMA
Age 84, passed away on June 13, 2012 of pancreatic cancer. Bernie was born in Honolulu on April 19, 1928 and lived in Kakaako until she married Larry Suganuma. She worked for the Del Monte Pineapple Company from the late 1940's, where she caught Larry's eye and later married him. They retired together in the mid 1980's and traveled the world; going on cruises in Southeast Asia and the Caribbean and touring across Europe, Canada and along the East and West Coasts of the United States. She lived her life with determination and grace and died with an abundance of strength and dignity, always on her own terms. Her beauty was her earmark; her love of family was her legacy. All who knew her will miss her dearly.
Her daughters Bernadette, Renee, Stephanie, son Michael, sisters Cecile, Alexandria, Loretta, Arlene, and brother Albert, survive her.
