-Welcome Fawcett, age 74, of Madison, WI passed away on Monday, Oct. 15, 2012. She was born on Oct. 24, 1937, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Charles and Welcome (Carlton) Skannal. She married James Thomas Fawcett in January 1964. Welcome earned her B.A. from Barnard College in 1959 and her J.D. from University of California, Berkeley in 1964. Welcome worked as an attorney for much of her life. She served on the Honolulu City Council from 1983 until 1987, including chairing the social services committee. She enjoyed classical and jazz music, and spending time with her grandchildren. Welcome is survived by her husband of 48 years, James; son, David (Darcy Haber) Fawcett; grand- children, Ariel and Benjamin Haber-Fawcett; and sisters, Lesley (Erik) Svenson and Lynn (Max) Kruse.
