81Charles L. Langer, also known as "Charlie" and "Kale," 68, of Hilo, a retired detective for the Honolulu Police Department, died at home. He was born in San Francisco. He is survived by wife Marietta M.H.; daughters Lea F. Langer Grupen,Lisa A. Amador and Desiree Okinaka; and five grandchildren. Visitation:11 a.m. Saturday at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Celebration of life:1 p.m. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park in Hilo, Ilima section. Casual attire.
