91, of Honolulu, died October 27, 2012 in Honolulu. Born May 12, 1921 in Honolulu to the family of Charles E. Mitchell, Robert was adopted by Clement A. Aona at the age of six. Robert retired as an E7 from the United States Army after over 20 years of service. He also retired from ESCO Corporation. Robert was an active and faithful member of the Manoa Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He is survived by his son Robert WH Aona; his daughters Charlotte Aona, Naomi Eck, Yvonne Aona; grandchildren Robert “Lopaka” Tengan and Nicole Phillips; two great-grandchildren; and one brother.
