Merlyn Barrett Ferreira, 83, of Kailua, a former trust officer at Bishop Trust Co. and a retired Army National Guard captain, died in Ewa Beach. He was born in North Kohala, Hawaii. He is survived by sonsMerlyn Scott and Byron Joseph "BJ"; daughter Darlene K. Burgess; stepdaughters Stephanie and Melissa Smith, and Jennifer Summa; sister Dorothy "Maile" Gerard; 10 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
