John Daniel Utley, 64, of Honolulu, a retired Army master sergeant who served in the Vietnam War, a Purple Heart recipient, Chaminade University professor and Bobby Benson Center program director, died in the Queen's Medical Center. He was born in Laramie, Wyo. He is survived by daughter Tara Arriola; mother Ada; brother Tom Jr.; sisters Diana Colbert, Ada Terrell, Jacque Dupree, Lilly Saucier and Rose Vance; and three grandchildren. Graveside services: 1 p.m. Thursday at Valley of the Temples.
