80William "Fred" Branum, 48, of Los Angeles, a boat captain, scuba diving instructor and Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. aircraft outfitter, died in Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born in Montgomery, Ala. He is survived by companion Kimberly Venardos, son Morgan K. "Kai," brother Donald R. and sisters Sonja B. Bowers and Lea Ann Clark.
